Samantha Jones will soon grace your TV screen again — at HBO’s earnest behest.
The Post exclusively reported last month that Kim Cattrall would be reprising her iconic “Sex and the City” role on its sequel series, “And Just Like That,” very soon.
The “Ice Princess” star, 66, appeared on Wednesday’s episode of “The View” and got candid about her cameo.
She admitted that it was HBO executive Casey Bloys who phoned her up and asked if she would like to come back for the “AJLT” Season 2 finale.
However, Cattrall wasn’t going to sign on so easily and she made the CEO a deal.
“It’s very interesting to get a call from the head of HBO saying, ‘What can we do?’” Cattrall smiled. “And I went, ‘Hmmm … let me get creative.’”
The “Filthy Rich” alum asked Bloys to allow friend and famed “Sex and the City” costume designer, Patricia Field, to clothe her for the one scene.
“I just thought, ‘If I’m going to come back, I got to come back with that kind of Samantha style,’” she said. “I got to push it. And we did.”
Cattrall did not join the spinoff show for its pilot season due to rumors of a catty “mean girls” feud between her and co-star Sarah Jessica Parker.
Parker, 58, even divulged her thoughts on the sex-crazed publicist’s comeback in a recent chat with Entertainment Weekly.
The “Hocus Pocus” star “thought it was a really nice idea” to bring Samantha back for the “cliffhanger” finale episode.
“Samantha is present in Season 1 and more so in Season 2 via text. It was just a nice nod to the 25 years [of ‘Sex and the City’] to add the face to the text,” Parker explained.
She continued to share more insight into the scene: “It’s a really opportune moment in the story, [a] consequential event happening in Carrie [Bradshaw]’s life, that Samantha rings and they have this quick, lovely, sentimental, funny call. And it just feels normal and really nice, and I’m glad that we could manage it and work it out and get it sorted time-wise and schedule-wise.”
Other members of the cast of the “AJLT” — including Kristin Davis (who plays Charlotte York) and Cynthia Nixon (who reprises her role as Miranda Hobbes) — have also broken their silence on Cattrall’s much-buzzed about return.
Davis, 58, told the Telegraph earlier this month that while she understands that fans are upset Cattrall doesn’t have a bigger role in the show, she doesn’t have any strong feelings about it.
“I’m not gonna waste energy on it. I can’t change anybody. I do understand fans’ feelings — that they’re upset … I wish I could fix it, but I can’t. It’s not in my power,” the “Couples Retreat” star said.
Meanwhile, Nixon, 57, had a lot to say about Cattrall’s shocking arrival, telling Vanity Fair in a candid interview that the actress is “not something that we speak about.”
The “Gilded Age” star then seemingly suggested Cattrall left the “SATC” cast “walking around on eggshells with someone who’s unhappy.”
