King Charles is running into some trouble while trying to evict his disgraced brother Prince Andrew from his royal residence, according to a royal expert.
The scandal-scarred royal, who was named in January’s Jeffrey Epstein document dump, has reportedly been on the brink of eviction from the Royal Lodge for years.
The Duke of York, 63, has been fighting to stay at the $37 million property ever since his friendship with the late pedophile financier came to light in 2019.
Andrew has been neglecting payments to upkeep the property — which requires an annual $503,000 upkeep per year, Us Weekly reports.
And according to royal commentator Ian Pelham Turner, Charles is struggling to snatch back the keys to the Grade II listed property.
“Prince Andrew is fighting very hard to remain a senior royal,” Pelham Turner told Fox News. “The problem is his home is in total disrepair.… I believe Charles feels that spending money on Andrew would not go down well.”
“On the other hand, it was allegedly said by the queen on her deathbed to Charles to look after Andrew, who was always thought to be her favorite son,” he went on.
“King Charles is adamant that such a large house, especially if it needs a significant amount of money spent on it, he can only do that for William and [his] children.”
It’s been reported that the Royal Lodge has been plagued with a myriad of issues, including dampness problems and “wear and tear” throughout the building.
What’s more, the building is suffering from cracks that “are becoming worse on the brickwork,” as well as peeling paint and wall plaster falling off, the outlet adds.
The Post has reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment.
The disgraced Duke of York has lived at the royal residence, located on the grounds of Windsor Castle, since 2004 after signing a 75-year lease agreement the year prior.
The Royal Lodge previously belonged to the Queen Mother until she died in 2002. Andrew currently shares the 31-room Royal Lodge mansion in Windsor with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.
It’s been reported that Charles had demanded his brother to vacate the property and instead move into Frogmore Cottage — the royal residence formerly belonging to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Andrew has kept a low profile since he was famously stripped of his royal and military honors by his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II. He no longer holds an HRH title.
