Meghan Markle believed Prince Harry “deserved more materially” than he received from the royals after she visited William and Kate Middleton’s apartment for the first time, a new book has claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex was introduced to the Prince and Princess of Wales in January 2017 when Harry brought her along to their apartment on the grounds of Kensington Palace.

And according to royal correspondent and author Robert Jobson, the “Suits” alum was instantly “taken aback” by inequality between the brothers.

In his new book “Catherine, the Princess of Wales,” released last week, Jobson writes, “It is understood that when Meghan and Harry had gone round to have drinks at William and Catherine’s apartment, while they were still living at Nottingham Cottage opposite, Meghan had been ‘taken aback’ at the disparity between the brothers.”

“‘I am not saying Meghan was jealous, but she was really surprised how lavishly Harry’s brother was living compared to where they were living,’ said a close source,” Jobson continued.

“‘It was perhaps the beginning of all the tensions between the two couples.’”

The Post has reached out to reps for the Sussexes for comment.

At the time, Harry, 39, was living in one of the smallest properties on the estate.

The property, named Nottingham Cottage, boasted two bedrooms and one bathroom.

The Waleses, for their part, were living in a spacious 20-room Apartment 1A — their London home since they tied the knot in 2011.

Harry previously reflected on his time at the property in his bombshell 2023 memoir “Spare.”

The father of two revealed he was “embarrassed” to bring Markle, 43, over to the home.

“I was excited to welcome Meg to my home, but also embarrassed. Nott Cott was no palace,” he wrote.

The couple later moved to Frogmore Cottage after tying the knot in 2017. However last year, they were forced to hand over the keys to the property after quitting royal life in 2020.

Elsewhere, Jobson claimed that William banned Markle from wearing the late Princess Diana’s jewelry at her wedding to Harry.

The royal author said that the future king was concerned about his now-estranged brother’s fast-moving relationship with the “Suits” alum.

Jobson said the current heir to the throne urged his younger brother to “cool the relationship” by giving Markle a chance to adjust to the royal way of life before locking it down with a ring.

“William, still concerned by the match, even sought assurances from the Queen that his brother’s bride-to-be would not wear any jewelry in the collection once worn by Diana, Princess of Wales, even though his wife Catherine had been allowed to wear some, which would be due to her rank,” he wrote.

William, for his part, proposed to Princess Catherine with the late Princess Diana’s famous 12-carat sapphire and diamond ring.
