Micah Parsons sees that extra spring in pal Travis Kelce’s step.
When discussing the Chiefs tight end and his blossoming romance with Taylor Swift, the star Cowboys linebacker weighed in on the now-viral stat suggesting Kelce, 34, plays better when the pop superstar, 33, attends his games.
“Travis Kelce’s my boy, best tight end in the league for like the past three, four years. So it’s obviously not Taylor Swift,” Parsons, 24, said Monday on his “The Edge with Micah Parsons” podcast.
“But I’m gonna tell y’all one thing. When there is a bad girl and she’s in attendance, and she’s watching you, that gives you an extra boost of confidence.”
Swift attended her fourth Chiefs game on Sunday, when Kansas City got its sixth win of the season with a 31-17 victory over the Chargers.
During the contest that aired on CBS, a stat revealed how Kelce is averaging 99.0 yards per game when Swift is in the stands versus 46.5 when “left to his own devices.”
The 12-time Grammy winner has missed just one of the past five Chiefs games, a 27-20 win over the Vikings in Minnesota, in which Kelce shook off an injury scare.
On Sunday, Kelce had 12 receptions for 179 yards and a touchdown — his fourth of the season.
“You know what Kelce’s doing, I know what’s going on. He was already doing it, so now, it’s like, ‘Yeah, I’m gonna do it more now.’ Like it’s a swagger, it’s a confidence when those things happen. Y’all know how it goes,” Parsons said.
Shortly after Sunday’s game, Swift — who watched from an Arrowhead Stadium suite with new pal Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes — planted a sweet kiss on Kelce’s cheek.
Kelce was first linked to Swift in September, months after revealing on his “New Heights” podcast that he failed to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it at the “Eras Tour” stop in Kansas City.
Kelce, a two-time Super Bowl champ and eight-time Pro Bowler, is in his 11th NFL season.
