Amazon Studios’ upcoming erotic drama “My Policeman” is set to show some steamy sex scenes between Harry Styles and co-star David Dawson.
Dawson, 40, spoke to the Hollywood Reporter about how those intimacy shots went down and what it was like to act alongside the 28-year-old pop star.
The story follows a British cop (Styles) who falls in love with a gay museum curator (Dawson) in 1960s England.
Of the sex scenes, Dawson noted how he worked closely with Styles to make each other comfortable.
“That one of the most special things I took away from this project,” he began.
“Because initially, when you read the script and you know that there are these intimate scenes, you hope that the person you’re going to be going through this process with is someone you can wholly put your trust in,” he continued.
“[You hope they] will communicate with you and is void of ego. And I got all of that and more in Harry,” Dawson added.
When asked if the thespian was shocked to shoot with the “Watermelon Sugar” singer, he discussed how “odd” the situation actually was.
“When they called ‘cut,’ the two of us did laugh. That’s how odd the situation is,” the “Last Kingdom” actor went on. “There were only about four other people that needed to be with us in that room … but we all just had a laugh, because that’s the best way to deal with it.”
“The Crown” star Emma Corrin is also starring in the film, as Styles’ character’s new wife.
“My Policeman” is Styles’ second big film project to debut this year, after girlfriend Olivia Wilde’s controversial thriller “Don’t Worry Darling.”
Acting alongside Wilde as well as Florence Pugh and Chris Pine, Styles portrays the too-good-to-be-true husband who traps her in a marriage fantasy to ensure both of their happinesses.
“My Policeman” will head to theaters on Oct. 21 and on Prime Video come Nov. 4.
