Princess Eugenie knows unflattering photographs are at times taken of her, so when commoners address snapshots they’ve seen of her, the exchange can get a bit awkward.

The royal, 33, described how people might see a “terrifyingly ugly photo of us coming out of a bar” or “action shots” that are “not the nicest photos” during a recent appearance on an episode of U.K. TV personality Kate Thornton’s White Wine Question Time podcast.

“I have people come up to me sometimes and say, ‘Oh you’re much better looking in real life,’” she recalled. “And you’re like, ‘Agh. Is that a compliment?’ I dunno.”

She added: “So I do get nervous, but I wanted people to see the real me. And to know that I have a sense of humor.”

The daughter of Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew (and the granddaughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II) went more public with her private life — often sharing photos of her husband, Jack Brooksbank, and their two sons, August, 2, and Ernest, 4 months — when she launched her own Instagram in 2018.

“I do my own Instagram and I find it the most stressful thing in the world,” Eugenie noted on the podcast. “Oh my God, I get so nervous. Before I post I have to text about five people asking if it’s okay, have I got a spelling mistake, am I gonna get in trouble?”

For Eugenie, she’s “constantly” trying to find “a balance” with how much she shares about her family and charity work, adding that her social presence is “really thought out.”

Last year, Eugenie also appeared in cousin Prince Harry’s Netflix documentary, “Harry & Meghan.” Footage showed Eugenie and Brooksbank, 37, at a Halloween party with Harry, 39, and Meghan Markle, 42, the day before their romance went public in 2016. Eugenie also visited the couple in LA as she was shown playing with their son, Archie, on the beach and biking with Harry. Sister Princess Beatrice, 35, did not make a cameo.

Eugenie has seemingly stayed the closest with Harry and the “Suits” alum since they exited the UK and their roles as senior royals. In May, she also included Harry in a photo collage via Instagram after his dad King Charles’ coronation.
