Rich Eisen to host ESPN’s ‘SportsCenter’ in first Bristol return in over 20 years

Rich Eisen is returning to the set of “SportsCenter.”

The longtime ESPN personality will be coming back to the host chair on April 13 for late night “SportsCenter” at midnight ET, the company announced on Thursday.

“I’m fired up to return to my old stomping grounds to host an old school SportsCenter on such a big sports night just like back in the day,” Eisen said in a press release from ESPN. “I’m so fortunate to have that opportunity and can’t wait to get back in the chair. Plus, my BlackBerry charger has been missing for what seems like forever and hope I maybe left it there somewhere.”

Eisen previously anchored the show from 1996 to 2003 alongside Stuart Scott before leaving the company for NFL Network, where he remains today.

It’s the second time Eisen returned to SportsCenter in recent years.

In August last year, Eisen hosted a throwback-style “SportsCenter” honoring the late Scott alongside Mina Kimes.

Last spring, two decades after his departure from the Worldwide Leader, brought Eisen’s self-titled show from The Roku Channel to ESPN.

The show moved to ESPN Radio in the fall.

Eisen maintained ownership and editorial control of the program, which runs from noon to 3 p.m. ET.

The news comes as ESPN and Disney merge with NFL Network.

It was revealed earlier this month that Eisen would remain the host of the NFL Network’s draft presentation in April.

Eisen has served as a play-by-play voice for some of NFL Network’s international games and YouTube’s first regular-season NFL game last season.
