Not everyone had a euphoric response to seeing Taylor Swift supporting Travis Kelce at Sunday’s Chiefs game.
Just ask Dan Le Batard, who discussed the Grammy winner’s highly publicized appearance at Arrowhead Stadium over the weekend on Monday’s installment of “The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz.”
“You may have heard, Taylor Swift attended a football game yesterday. It was wildly overcovered. She wildly overreacted to the least interesting touchdown of Travis Kelce’s career. She is an awkward clapper,” Le Batard said.
Swift — who was invited by Kansas City’s start tight end to see him in action — had an animated reaction to Kelce’s touchdown in the second half of the Chiefs’ 41-10 blowout win over the Bears, watching from a suite at Arrowhead with his mom, Donna.
The “Cruel Summer” singer was then spotted with Kelce after the game, according to footage captured by sports anchor Jarrett Payton, which was subsequently analyzed on Le Batard’s show.
“Travis Kelce had a look at Jarrett Payton, an unhappy look of being caught walking through this area — he does not look happy,” Le Batard said.
Though others disagreed with Le Batard, the fiery takes on the rumored pair kept rolling Monday with Chris “Mad Dog” Russo.
“I’m not into Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, so try somebody else for that,” Russo said on “Mad Dog Sports Radio.”
“I don’t care if Taylor Swift is nude in the box, I’m not that interested, I’m sorry, I could care less.”
ESPN’s Elle Duncan also suggested the Swift and Kelce outing could be a “stunt.”
“It’s a stunt. And there was nothing more clear that it was a stunt than watching them leave the arena together,” she said on “The Elle Duncan Show.”
“It was the most platonic walk of all time… They’re not dating, this is a stunt.”
Kelce, 33, initially expressed interest in Swift, also 33, over the summer, when he spoke about his plan to give the pop megastar his phone number at her “Eras Tour” in Kansas City.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings, so I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” Kelce said on his “New Heights” podcast.
“She doesn’t meet anybody — or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal, but it was an unbelievable show.”
Kelce and Swift were first linked romantically earlier this month, with the two-time Super Bowl champion fanning the flames on Thursday’s episode of “The Pat McAfee Show.”
“I threw the ball in her court. I told her, ‘I’ve seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead [Stadium], you might have to come see me rock the stage in Arrowhead and see which one is a little more lit,” Kelce said.
“So, we’ll see what happens in the near future.”
Well, you know by now how this budding “Love Story” unfolded.
