Travis Kelce wasn’t the only “magical” member of the Chiefs at Super Bowl 2024.
When reflecting on Kansas City’s thrilling 25-22 overtime win against the 49ers at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas earlier this month, Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman revealed the sentimental way that Kelce’s girlfriend, pop superstar Taylor Swift, congratulated him after his game-winning touchdown.
“[When] I first met her, I was doing magic tricks with the cards — I got a few tricks I can do with the cards — and she was like, ‘This is crazy,’ and every time she sees me she talk about it,” Hardman said on this week’s installment of “The Pivot Podcast.”
“So then she was like, man, you and these cards, your hands are magical, something she was saying like that.”
Hardman caught a three-yard touchdown pass from Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes to seal Kansas City’s third Super Bowl victory in five seasons.
Hardman has been a member of all three championship teams.
The 25-year-old wideout began the 2023 season as a member of the Jets after signing with them in free agency but was seldom used and traded back to Kansas City in October.
Moments after his Super Bowl-sealing score, Hardman — who said he “blacked out” in the moment — was greeted on the field by Swift, 34.
“So happy for you guys,” Swift said, according to footage of their embrace.
The 14-time Grammy winner kept the Super Bowl celebrations rolling with Kelce, whom she has been dating since last summer.
“You are so magical,” Swift told the 34-year-old tight end on a hot mic.
“I’ve never been so proud in my life.”
Swift’s trip to Las Vegas came to an end shortly after the Super Bowl, as she then resumed the international leg of her blockbuster Eras Tour in Australia.
The “Cruel Summer” singer recently wrapped four performances in Sydney, where she was joined by Kelce.
The Eras Tour will travel to Singapore this weekend.
