Juan Soto slide into home to beat the throw — not that fans watching the TBS broadcast had much of a chance to catch it.

The national broadcast oddly followed Giancarlo Stanton during his fourth-inning double, a drive to left-center field that saw Soto score all the way from first to open the scoring of Wednesday’s 3-2 win over the Royals.

The camera work did not endear the network, with Bob Costas on the call, to many viewers.

“TBS is an embarrassment,” Mad Dog Radio’s Steve Torre wrote on X. “Atrocious camera work on Stanton double. Had no clue if Soto scored or how close the play was going to be. Too busy getting a George Brett history lesson.”

“I genuinely think TBS is doing this on purpose,” Barstool Sports’ Eric Hubbs opined. “MLB has to step in and fire people mid-game. This is ridiculous.”

The Jomboy Media crew had a much more visceral reaction on their livestream, with the hosts literally leaping out of their seats and seizing up in anger.

Not helping matters much, the stunning broadcast decision came after Jon Morosi’s half-inning long interview with Royals great George Brett, which cut into Michael Massey’s third-inning at-bat.

Costas continue to share his thought on Brett even as Soto and Stanton batted in the top of the fourth.

“TBS once again trying to air the stupid Royals-Yankees game in the middle of their George Brett documentary,” Sports Illustrated’s Jimmy Traina wrote.

Brett’s tales of playing against the Yankees during his 21-year Hall-of-Fame career went on long enough to even irk some Kansas City fans.

“I’m from Kansas City, born and raised. The Royals are the only baseball I’ve ever really cared about,” FS1’s Nick Wright shared on X. “And even *I* think a George Brett interview from the stands for an entire half inning during Game 3 of the ALDS is pretty ridiculous.”

It was inescapable even for those who opted to listen, as Yankees radio analyst Suzyn Waldman relayed the Brett complaints she’d received.

“A friend of mine today said to me about George Brett, ‘George Brett is getting more TV time than Taylor Swift did when she started going to Chiefs games. Every time I look up, George Brett is on television,’” she told her audience.
