‘The View’ descends into chaos as hecklers interrupt taping to shout down Ted Cruz

“The View” descended into chaos Monday morning when climate protesters hijacked a live taping of the show, shouting over the top of an interview with Ted Cruz.

The daytime program’s panelists were partway through grilling the Texas senator on the upcoming midterm elections when several women in the audience began chanting: “Cover climate now!”

Cruz continued to talk over the chants before one of the activists reportedly yelled out: “F – – k you, Ted Cruz!”

The profanity prompted moderator Whoopi Goldberg to fire back before the show quickly cut to commercial.

“Ladies, ladies! Excuse us! Let us do our jobs,” Goldberg blasted back. “We hear what you have to say, but you gotta go! You gotta go, you gotta let us do our job.”

An ABC spokesperson told The Post in a statement: “Three members of the audience interrupted ‘The View’ today during Sen. Ted Cruz’s appearance protesting about climate.  They were promptly escorted out by security.”

Cruz remained on the program with the interview continuing once the show returned from its commercial break.

Co-host Ana Navarro offered up an apology to the senator, stating: “I’ve been very vocal and critical of you, but I’m sorry that this has happened in our house.”

Cruz has not yet addressed the on-air pandemonium on his Twitter account, but has re-tweeted a clip from Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs, which stated: “Liberals preach ‘tolerance’ but are the least tolerant people in America.”

After the show returned from commercial, Cruz engaged in a heated debate with Goldberg as she grilled him on the Jan. 6, 2021 riots at the US Capitol.

“We may not like when Republicans win, but we don’t go and we don’t storm [government buildings],” Goldberg declared after Cruz insisted that Democrats have repeatedly claimed that elections have been “illegitimate” and “stolen.”

“Did I miss an entire year of Antifa riots where cities across were burning?” Cruz snapped back.

“I don’t know what an Antifa riot is!” Goldberg subsequently protested as their squabble continued, and Navarro asked the senator to lower his voice.

The segment ended with Goldberg announcing that audience members were going home with a copy of Cruz’s new book, “Justice Corrupted: How the Left Weaponized Our Legal System.”

“The View” star subsequently stated “I’m sorry,” although it was unclear whether she was apologizing to the audience for the giveaway or to Cruz for the heckling he received on the show.
