The essence of “Tayvoodoo” has reached new heights.
When discussing childhood sports films Wednesday on their “New Heights” podcast, Travis Kelce playfully called out big brother Jason Kelce when the conversation pivoted to Kansas City’s 11-1 season that has been defined by close finishes, with the retired Eagles center suggesting an aura surrounding the Chiefs tight end’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, could be at play.
“I kind of feel like you guys are the ‘Angels in the Outfield,’ there’s some unknown…,” Jason said smiling.
Travis started laughing before responding, “Here you go with this f–king Tayvoodoo s–t. This dude’s such a d–khead.”
Urban Dictionary has defined “Tayvoodoo” as “a sudden wave of karma resulting in crippling of mental/physical health or sudden drop in popularity fame,” fueled by “attacking/feuding” with Swift, who has been dating Travis, 35, since 2023.
Although the reigning Super Bowl champions have clinched a playoff spot for the new year, the Chiefs narrowly escaped several contests this season with wins, including Friday’s 19-17 victory over the Raiders following an early snap debacle.
“You can call it luck, you can call it fortune, guys just playing their ass off until the last second is off that clock and we know a lot of weird s–t happens in this league,” Travis said when expanding on the Chiefs’ one-score games.
Swift, 34, was in attendance at Arrowhead Stadium for the Black Friday contest and has attended all of the Chiefs’ home games this year.
The pop superstar will be in Vancouver on Sunday, when the Chiefs host the rival Chargers in prime-time, as she’ll conclude her record-smashing Eras Tour following a near two-year run.
“The emotions have gotten pretty heightened for me and the rest of the team because it’s gotten extremely real for us: Our next city will be the last one of The Eras Tour, and the closing of the most extraordinary chapter of my life so far,” Swift expressed in a Nov. 26 Instagram post.
Travis has attended several Eras Tour shows over the past year and even made a cameo at a London concert back in June.
The three-time Super Bowl champion supported Swift in November for a performance in Indianapolis, where he sat near WNBA star Caitlin Clark.
Travis is continuing to shake off his slow start to the year, recording 75 receptions for 637 yards and two touchdowns across 12 games.
The Chiefs will kick off against the Chargers at 8:20 p.m. Sunday.
