‘Wheel of Fortune’ fans say contestant ‘deserves better’ after Pat Sajak ruling

Pat Sajak went bankrupt with his fans.

“Wheel of Fortune” host Pat Sajak, 76, earned the ire of several Twitter fans Wednesday after he ruled against contestant Neetu Varshney’s answer on the game show’s second “Toss Up” puzzle.

Varshney, who is a teacher and STEM supervisor for New Jersey’s Clark public school system, attempted to solve the puzzle during the non-spinning round saying the answer was “In a moment’s notice” but was told by Sajak that the answer was “incorrect.”

Fellow contestant, Jeremy Manos managed to solve the riddle by saying it was “at a moment’s notice” and earned $2,000.

“Almost got it, but it’s ‘at a moment’s notice,’” said the host to Varshney following Manos’ win.

Manos went on to win the game with a whopping $49,618, while Varshney went home with only $1,000 after failing to secure any money during the competition.

The Post reached out to Varshney for comment.

Several online users were furious with Sajak.

“@WheelofFortune @patsajak NEETU got robbed on that puzzle solve,” slammed one user.

“Neetu deserved that puzzle win @WheelofFortune #wheeloffortune she definitely said ‘At a moment’s notice,’” chided another.

"Almost got it, but it’s 'at a moment’s notice,'" said the host to Varshney following Manos' win.

“I’m so glad to see other people that care — because you can absolutely see the upset in her face,” complained a third user. ” It wasn’t right, it’s dismissive and a total let down by @WheelofFortune @CBS @TheVannaWhite #neetu deserves better.”

Other users complained that the game show host acted “dismissive” to Varshney.

“@WheelofFortune NEETU LEGIT SAID TWO PUZZLES CORRECTLY AND YALL TOLD HER SHE WAS WRONG,” roared one fan. “ITS HER ACCENT— BOTH PUZZLES SHE WAS CORRECT ON!!! Y’all robbed her, that ain’t right at all.”

“@WheelofFortune You all robbed Neetu on last night’s episode. She said the first two puzzles correctly but because of her accent Pat “old Man sajak” said incorrect,” huffed a second person. “I watched over and over again and she had Both Mall of America & At A moment’s notice correctly!”

One user said the contestant should get a redo episode.

“Neetu answered correctly. she has an accent @WheelofFortune she deserves another episode,” the user wrote.

Sajak — who has hosted the iconic game show since 1981 — is no stranger to online criticism.

In April, fans blasted Sajak for “robbing” a college-age contestant of $100,000 in a botched bonus round question.

Sajak also made viewers uncomfortable during the show’s WWE week when he asked wrestling star Austin Theory to take off his shirt mid-show.
