‘Cruel’: Royal fans outraged at King Charles III costume with giant ears

Royal fans are giving a costume-maker an earful.

A costume resembling King Charles III, 74, has gone on sale via Amazon UK for about $40. However, some are saying the outfit is “cruel” due to the fact it comes with enormous plastic ears.

The ensemble hit the market just weeks before King Charles’ May 6 coronation during which he will be formally crowned as king.

The garb comes complete with the controversial beige-colored giant ears, a plastic yellow-gold crown, a red velvet robe and a scepter.

“Horribly cruel and unnecessary,” an angry Londoner lamented.

“Bullying is not acceptable on any level,” they added.

Not everyone was offended. “I’d call it realistic, not cruel,” said one amused Twitter user.

“Does it come with Sausage fingers?” one person joked, referencing how many fans have made fun of the king’s thick fingers over the years.

“Accuracy is important,” another user commented.

One person chimed in: “I always suspected that both Micky Mouse and King Charles III having prominent ears was no coincidence!”

Whether or not the Brits approve of the costume, they’ll likely be all ears for King Charles III’s upcoming coronation.

The event is said to be a “scaled-back” affair and is reportedly going to be a more modernized celebration.

“The king has stripped back a lot of the coronation in recognition that the world has changed in the past 70 years,” a source told the Mirror last October.

The traditionally three-hour service at Westminster Abbey will be just 60 minutes and the guestlist has been reduced from 8,000 to only 2,000.

The bash will also be celebrated with a new James Bond novel.

“Young Bond” series author Charlie Higson has been tapped by Ian Fleming Publications to pen a new story to commemorate Charles’ crowning.

“On His Majesty’s Secret Service” will debut on May 4 and will be set in the present day.

According to Ian Fleming Publications, the new adventure will follow super-spy 007 as he is “sent at the last minute to thwart an attempt to disrupt the coronation by the wealthy, eccentric and self-styled Athelstan of Wessex, who is on a deadly mission of his own to teach the United Kingdom a lesson.”

Bond is tasked to take down Athelstan of Wessex’s evil master plan.
