I toured a filthy rental — the current tenant was asleep in his underwear

It was a room with a snooze.

A UK woman touring a three-bedroom house got quite the surprise when she found the current tenant fast asleep on the couch — in just his shirt and underwear.

Katie Elliott, who was looking for a place to rent, told Jam Press that the man was surrounded by vodka and beer bottles, cigarette boxes and fast food wrappers

“The guy on the sofa didn’t even notice us,” Elliot said. “However, it was 12 pm so it wasn’t even that early in the day.”

Elliot, who documented the entire event on her TikTok, revealed that the agent was mortified over the state of the property.

“The letting agent warned me before we went in that it was extremely dirty and said that they were really struggling with it,” she explained. “You could tell she was embarrassed and she was talking about how ridiculous it was.”

Elliot, who checking out the place to rent, said that she didn’t expect it to be that bad.

Unsurprisingly, Elliott and her friends ended up not going with the filthy apartment despite the pleading efforts of the realtor.

“It might have been okay once all cleaned up but two of the rooms were tiny so it didn’t suit us,” Elliott said. “The leasing agent just kept saying I can only ask you to try and look past the mess.”

Following the disastrous viewing, Elliott came to the conclusion that the tenants at the time must have been students.

The video that she took and later posted on social media has gone viral with a million views and several comments about the state of the house.

‘No way this is real,” said one astounded viewer. “Why is someone on the couch still?”
