We roasted our wedding party — haters say it was ‘messed up’

First comes love, then comes marriage — then comes making your bridal party feel embarrassed.

For this comical couple, yes.

A little light-hearted ribbing went a long way for virally-acclaimed newlyweds Rachel Hoeft and Drew Oddo, who toasted their nuptials by savagely roasting their bridesmaids and groomsmen in front of 115 wedding guests.

And the secrets of their toxic dating traits, cheeky encounters with strippers and miserably bad habits were hilariously exposed in a circulating TikTok clip, which stockpiled a staggering 2 million views.

“Our bridesmaids and groomsmen had no idea we were going to roast them,” Hoeft, 29, a mental performance coach from Southern California, told The Post with a laugh. “We thought it was a fun way to hype up our best friends while humbling them at the same time.”

She and Oddo, 29, tied the knot at the Grace Maralyn Estate in Atascadero, Calif., with six of her lifelong girlfriends and six of his pals standing by their sides on May 6. But for the reception, the nontraditional sweethearts, who’ve been together since 2015, chose to get their party started by throwing shade instead of rice.

“Gabby grew up with three rough brothers and is now terrified of others pulling her toes,” said the event emcee as Hoeft’s first bridesmaid walked into the party alongside a groomsman known as “The Swede.”

“His toxic trait,” the announcer continued, “is riding his motorcycle past his ex’s [house] on his way to meet his new chicks.”

Next, bridesmaid Maylee was introduced to the cackling crowd for once pulling, “a $5 bill out of a stripper’s butt crack” and taking it home with her. Groomsmen Jesse, a lawyer, was then teased over his penchant for picking fights with anyone who crosses his path.

The merciless bad-mouthing continued with more eye-popping disses, including a dig at bridesmaid Deja for failing to realize that her female pet cats were actually males, and a jab at groomsmen Bailey who grew out his facial hair to look like a dog during the COVID-19 lockdown.

And while Hoeft assured The Post that her and Oddo’s jeers were all in good fun, the levity was lost on a handful of offended social media scowlers.

“This is so cringe” penned an unimpressed killjoy.

Debbie-downers online argued that the roast was “cold” and “cringe.”

“That’s cold man,” another sneered, “airing [everyone’s] dirty laundry.”

A separate naysayer said, “A little messed up…They pay money, show up and get roasted…Nah, no thanks.”

Folks online were equally steamed when a Utah bride subjected her bridesmaids to a wedding morning workout in March. And virtual vitriol was aimed at a newlywed Sam Cutler when she served her bridal party and wedding guests a strictly “healthy” menu of gluten-, dairy- and sugar-free bites at her vow exchange in mid May.

Hoeft, however,  said everyone who actually attended the wedding, including her berated buddies, went wild over her snappy wisecracks.

“Every single one of them loved it,” she insisted.

“We’ve know them for many years and most of them have known each other for a long time, too,” added the blushing bride. “These are all things that we’ve joked about with each other for years. Nothing was a surprise to anyone.”

And despite the hate she and Oddo received from virtual trolls who trashed their trash-talking, Hoeft says she doesn’t regret topping off her big day with silly vibes.

“The roast was unique to our relationship with each other [and our friends],” she said.

“No one should judge me for it.”
