I put my dad in prison — so the cop who jailed him stood in at my wedding

He walked her brutal father into a jail cell — then he walked her down the aisle. 

Newlywed Ivy Jacobsen, a Washington State Police Officer who recently tied the knot with a deputy sheriff, is striking social media gold after tapping 15 loving men — including the cop who arrested her violent dad when she was a teenager — to escort her to the altar during her July 15 outdoor nuptials. 

“At 16, our bride played a pivotal role in ensuring that her abusive father was put in prison,” wrote wedding planner Karrah, based in Snohomish, Wash., in the closed-captions of trending TikTok footage featuring Jacobsen’s march towards then-hubby-to-be, Tristen. 

The heartfelt clip scored a whopping 11.7 million views.  

“On her wedding day, she asked 15 of the most important men in her life to escort her down the aisle,” added Karrah in the viral video’s text. “These men included her brother, brother-in-law, childhood coaches and the police officer who arrested her father.”

Per the post, two men positioned on either side of the grassy walkway would link arms with Jacobsen, 28, ushering her a few steps down the aisle before handing her off to the next set of gentlemen who then led her further down the precious path. 

When the officiant asked, “Who gives this woman to be married to this man?,” Jacobsen’s throng of father figures thunderously answered in unison, saying: “We do.”

Jacobsen did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for a comment. 

But the evocative visuals sent sappy social media spectators to sobs. 

“Didn’t think I’d be ugly crying at 8:00 in the morning, but here I am. This is absolutely beautiful!,” blubbered an emotional onlooker in the comments 

“I’m so grateful she has all these amazing men to show up for someone who couldn’t in the first place,” added another. 

“I can’t even imagine how horrendous it was for her as this helpless little girl growing up. Embrace your happy ending sweetie you deserve it!!!,” cheered an equally warmed viewer.

“One of the most powerful things I’ve seen on this not so silly app,” another wrote. 

In response to the outpouring of love, Jacobsen thanked digital supporters for the well wishes, and reminded folks that their past trauma doesn’t have to be a life sentence. 

“We all have a story that shapes us — it does not define us — but shapes us and empowers us in ways to move forward,” encouraged Jacobsen in the clip, which shared to Karrrah’s TikTok profile.

“It’s why I do what I do,” added the now-married officer, dressed in her on-duty uniform. “It’s why I show up every day for my community.”

Jacobsen’s big day promenade is one of the more sweet-hearted strolls to have gone viral during wedding season 2023. 

In June, a goofy groom caused his bride to blush with embarrassment after he was caught texting during their post-“I Do” amble out of the church. That same month, a 48-year-old father-of-the-bride publicly refused to pay for his 19-year-old daughter’s wedding when she refused him a starring role during her holy matrimony.

“She got engaged and decided that she doesn’t want me to walk her down the aisle at her wedding,” lamented the anonymous dad in the “Am I The A- -hole” thread on Reddit. “As a response, I told her that if she feels that way, then I won’t be paying for her wedding.”

The popular post divided social media, seeing some commentators agree with the father, saying: “You heard her. She is independent. Independent people deal with their own bills.”

However others simply made light of the wedded bliss mess, writing, “You can contribute to the wedding — she should be having in about 8-10 years.”
