This was quite the opposite of sibling rivalry.
As the Bills were closing out a day of training camp in Rochester and Josh Allen was headed to the locker room, one young fan yelled out to the star quarterback.
“Josh, I have a question!” the fan yelled multiple times.
He caught Allen’s attention.
The boy had a Sharpie in his hand, and Allen walked toward him, presumably expecting to be asked for an autograph.
But that was not the request.
“Josh, my sister loves you,” the fan began.
“Can you please hug her or something? She’s over there in the bucket hat. She’s literally crying.”
Allen gave the boy a grin, and said, “In the bucket hat?”
The older brother affirmed.
“She loves you!” he said again.
Allen made his way over to a horde of autograph seekers, signing a couple before recognizing the boy’s sister.
The quarterback proceeded to give her an embrace.
“Oh my God!” she exclaimed, as she teared up.
On the football front, there was good news for Allen with regards to the unhappiness that star receiver Stefon Diggs expressed earlier this offseason.
“From a standpoint from a head coach, I have the utmost respect for him. He’s a guy that you can always have an open-door policy with and have conversations with him as a man, which is more important than football,” Diggs told reporters Wednesday.
“I feel like we are on the same page moving forward. Like I said, it’s all water under the bridge. I know you guys haven’t spent too much time with me all offseason and I missed you guys too, but all is well in the Mafia household.”
The Bills are coming off a 13-3 season — their Week 17 game versus the Bengals was declared a no-contest after safety Damar Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest — and have +900 odds to win the Super Bowl, according to the latest odds on FanDuel.
