Trying saying this name 10 times in a row.
An anonymous Redditor has shared the “mortifying” moniker her sister conjured up for her newborn, saying the child will “get picked on” when she grows up.
“My sister has never been close to my family because she moved to LA to become an influencer, and is trying to live the LA influencer lifestyle,” the 17-year-old began the recently resurfaced Reddit thread posted to a forum titled: “Am I The A–hole.”
The Redditor said she gave some traditional baby name ideas to her sister, despite their estrangement.
Elizabeth, Ella, Ashley and Anna were among the classic suggestions the user offered up.
“My mom was very happy with those names, as she ALWAYS talks bad about parents who give their babies weird unique names,” the Redditor continued. “I was suspicious though, because there was no way that’s actually what my sister was considering for names.”
Indeed, when the wannabe influencer welcomed her baby girl, she shocked her family with the made-up moniker.
“The poor baby’s name is Kynzlynleigha Everella. (Kin-zlin-lee-uh, Ever-ella),” the Reddit user wrote. “I nearly stopped breathing. It was the biggest mouthful of a name I have ever seen.”
Her parents, she said, were “astonished and disappointed.”
“We called her and told her how the baby will always get picked on, and she just hung up,” she declared.
Fellow Redditors were left stunned by the name, and insisted the user and her family were right to feel disappointed.
“Maybe your sister fell asleep on the keyboard when she was typing the name and then liked how it sounded? No child should have to write half the alphabet to spell their first name. Good luck!” one wrote.
“I’ve worked in enough kindergarten classrooms to know that poor little kynzlywhatcha is going to spend a lot of tears learning to spell her name and will probably pick a nickname pretty fast,” another quipped.
But this wannabe influencer isn’t the only parent facing backlash for baby names.
One mom-to-be wanted to name her child Smokie, but was met with ridicule in a parenting group online.
“Just remember you’re not only naming a baby, you’re naming a school child; will they get teased, a young professional will they be hired and taken seriously, an adult/old woman,” one person chided.
“Don’t let your crazed whim be a burden and abuse for the rest of your poor child’s life.”
“Smokie is a name for a dog, cat or rabbit,” another scolded. “Not a human child who has to grow up to be an adult applying for jobs and getting their resume laughed at and thrown out.”
