My name is Harry Potter — really — and it’s made my life ridiculous

His name is Harry Potter — but he’s not a wizard.

A British man in his twenties named Harry Potter was born six months before J.K. Rowling’s “Philosopher’s Stone” was published in the UK in 1997. The next year the best-selling book came out in the U.S. with the title “The Sorcerer’s Stone.”

Ever since the book came out, the next chapter of his life came with some fun opportunities and synchronicities.

Potter, who goes by @wordlytrends on TikTok, posted a video about having the same name as a wildly popular fictional wizard on his TikTok in July.

Since being posted, the video, which details the “four most ridiculous” things that have ever happened to him because he has the same name as Harry Potter, has more than 64,000 views.

The Post was unable to reach Potter for comment.

“Here are the four most ridiculous things that happened because of my name,” he began in his video.

The first absurdity he was asked was to be on a Japanese game show, he shared.

He said that he made around $122 from that experience, but missed out on bigger money-making opportunities.

Potter explained that there’s another man with the name Harry Potter who managed to capitalize on his name in a more profitable way.

After posting a screenshot of him, Potter told his followers that the other Potter managed to snag a first edition of the book.

“He managed to sell that edition for over [$24,000], so, relatively speaking, I think I could have done a bit better,” he said.

The second most ridiculous thing that happened to him was meeting actor Gary Oldman, who plays his fictional godfather Sirius Black in the film franchise.

Potter said he was paid $122 to go on a Japanese game show.

Potter was at Heathrow Airport in London on a school trip when he spotted the actor.

“He didn’t quite believe my name at first. But, fortunately, I had a passport to hand and that’s what led to the photo you can see there,” he said in the video, sharing a snap of the two together.

The third thing he shared was that he got to open a bookshop for the release of “The Deathly Hallows” at midnight.

Potter said he got to meet Gary Oldman, who played Sirius Black in the movie. He called the character Black his “uncle” in his video but his commenters corrected him and said Sirius is actually Potter’s godfather.

The final hilarious thing that happened to him occurred when he was walking to a class at his university.

“I was power walking up the road going to class at 9:00 in the morning,” he said.

“And coming up the road towards me I see another guy who I don’t recognize look at me square in the eyes, take out his headphones, and say, ‘You’re a wizard, Harry.’”

He said he never did find out who spoke to him on the road.

He said he also got to open up a bookstore at midnight for the release of a new book from the series.

“So, yeah, shameless self-promotion aside, if you’re wondering what it’s like to have an unlucky name, there you have it,” he said.

Commenters below his video made joking comments — and some claimed to have the same name as him, too.

“Wait. My mum gave me my name after I was born, you were born with yours??” one wrote.

“I can relate to this my surname is potter and my whole life I’ve had (Have you got a brother called Harry) Or Are you Harry’s sister 🙄🤣,” said another.

“how many of ur issues in life rise from girls wanting to marry u for ur last name? 👀😂,” said a third.
