Pat McAfee rails on ESPN exec — again: ‘I don’t got a motherf–king boss’

ESPN host Pat McAfee is doubling down on his January comments about ESPN.

The former NFL punter turned sports media personality called his prior words — which centered around network executive Norby Williamson — “a warning shot,” saying he doesn’t have “a motherf–king boss” during an appearance on Showtime’s “All the Smoke” podcast.

A clip from the new episode was posted on Tuesday night — as the full episode is set to go live Thursday — and highlighted McAfee’s comments about his “war” with some ESPN executives.

He previously called out Williamson, whom McAfee previously accused of “attempting to sabotage” his eponymous program.

The beef, which came amid the Aaron-Rodgers-Jimmy Kimmel dustup, has seemingly not subsided.

McAfee never directly referred to Williamson by name during the podcast clip, but he viewed his own prior comments as “just a warning shot to I thought a person that was at the same [level].”

“I report directly to [ESPN president] Jimmy [Pitaro] and [Disney CEO] Bob [Iger],” McAfee said in the nearly six-minute clip. “I saw [media reporting] ‘Pat calls out his boss.’ I don’t got a motherf–king boss. What are we …? We talking Jimmy Pitaro or Bob Iger?

“Like, is that who we’re talking about? Because those are people that could technically be described as my boss.”

McAfee also went through the laundry list of issues that he has had with a certain exec in the past, including being no-showed and having to wait 45 minutes for one, which McAfee previously claimed Williamson did to him.

“That guy was not a fan of me — or our operation — for a long time,” McAfee said on the podcast.

McAfee explained that some others at ESPN did not roll out the welcome wagon for him when he first arrived and replaced the noon broadcast of “SportsCenter,” describing the experience like he was “at war.”

But he did express some regret over his comments’ impact on his allies at the network, including Pitaro and ESPN’s president of content, Burke Magnus.

“I genuinely did not expect it to get as big as it did because I didn’t think I said anything that was like that crazy,” McAfee said. “You know what I mean? … Like if I really wanted to saw a motherf–ker down, I thought I could have done it in a much bigger way. And I did not. So I was actually pretty proud of myself.

“I was like, Look at me, I’m an adult. And then it got loud.”
