Jena Sims is embracing her Masters haters.
During the April tournament where Sims supported her husband and five-time major winner Brooks Koepka, the 37-year-old Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model sported various outfits throughout the weekend as fashion has also become a spectacle at Augusta.
So much so, some fans were in an uproar about Sims’ attire. She is now thanking those haters for a busy calendar ever since the Masters.
While on “The Viall Files” podcast Tuesday, co-host and former “Bachelor” Nick Viall asked, “How did you process all of a sudden waking up one day and having the internet tell you that you were inappropriate?”
“I loved it because it did wonders for my engagement,” Sims said. “People like you reaching out. It led to so many more opportunities. There might as well have been smoke blowing out of the bottom of my phone. Like I’ve been viral, it was nothing like this because it was the first time people were doing the green screen videos where they would cycle through my outfits and they were the talking head against my content. Holy s–t! That’s never happened to be before!”
One particular outfit that threw golf fans into a tizzy was terry towel Masters themed pants that Sims paired with a cropped green long sleeve shirt and sparkly Masters bag.
Sims posted a video on TikTok to show off the pants and received several hateful comments.
“This is not Masters attire,” one user wrote.
“MASTER ATTIRE IS QUIET LUXURY AND CLASSY AND NOT THIS,” another chimed in.
“Girl that outfit at the Masters. I saw you say that this your coachella. This is not coachella,” someone else wrote.
“Why are we wearing carpet pants to the Masters. Girl you’re at one of the nicest golf courses in the country…” a TikTok user said.
At the time, Sims said she shared the picture with Koepka to get his perspective after reading all the comments.
She revealed Koepka texted back: “‘What the heck? I think that’s totally fine.’ So, it was a little bit of a relief just because I’m not trying to f–k his game up in any way. I mean, we’ve been together for so long. We have this running joke of like, ‘If anything happens in your life, I don’t want to hear about it unless your leg is getting chopped off during the week of Augusta.’ ”
Koepka, who recently returned to the PGA Tour after defecting to LIV Golf, finished tied for 12th at The Masters.
Sims tagged him as “one of the girls” for his understanding.
Sims and Kopeka have been together since 2015 and tied the knot in 2022.
They share a son together, Crew Sims Koepka, who was born in 2023. He made his second Masters appearance this year at the Par 3 contest.
