Christmas comes extremely early at the Happiest Place on Earth.
Disneyland fans were left feeling festive after a piece of Sleeping Beauty Castle’s snow-covered holiday makeover was spotted being hauled to the Anaheim theme park — more than two months before the resort’s customary holiday transformation and festivities begin.
Devotees did a double take after a photo of the snow dusted castle spire cruising through the sunny streets on the back of truck was shared to Reddit’s r/Disneyland forum.
Enthusiasts were quick to pinpoint the intersection near Lincoln Avenue and State College Boulevard — roughly 10 minutes outside the theme park.
The sight of festive winter flurries under the hot California sun also elicited some strong responses online.
“It’s September 1st. I do not want to read the word ‘Christmas’ until late November at best,” one disgruntled parkgoer vented.
Others mourned the lost in transition moment — noting that this year’s spooky season has barely had a chance to scream.
“I know people are divided on these things but I really wish they’d let each ‘season’ breathe,” another noted, recalling previous holiday overlaps where guests could snap photos featuring anniversary, Halloween and Christmas decor all in one frame.
“Halloween in August & Christmas in September????” a fan protested.
Meanwhile, the original poster of the picture, @fantasyfran on Instagram, wrote “I’m so ready for the holidays” along with the photo.
Towards the end of August, Disneyland reopened the beloved Haunted Mansion ride after a 13-day closure — stripping away the classic attraction in favor of Haunted Mansion Holiday.
This years “Nightmare Before Christmas” overlay, featuring a giant spinning music box gingerbread centerpiece in the Grand Ballroom and Jack Skellington as Santa Claws, will dominate New Orleans Square through early January 2027.
Meanwhile, Disneyland recently pulled back the curtain on its full 2026 holiday lineup — confirming the season runs from Nov. 13 through Jan. 6, 2027.
Once the snow spires are fully bolted into place, the Sleeping Beauty Castle will light up with 80,000 twinkling bulbs and a nightly faux “snowfall.”
Beloved traditions returning include a 60-foot Christmas tree will welcome guests on Main Street, “A Christmas Fantasy Parade,” and the “Believe…In Holiday Magic” fireworks extravaganza.
While the official Yuletide festivities don’t start until mid-November, the massive winter transformation clearly takes months of advance heavy lifting.
