Another college football fan got the viral treatment during the SMU-Florida State game Monday — but the scene was not what many assumed.
Camille Sonalia — a 21-year-old student at Florida State University and a member of the Kappa Delta sorority — reshared a clip of her speaking to a male fan being shown on the ESPN broadcast as the Mustangs led the Seminoles by one point with less than two minutes to go in the first quarter.
“Is this my big break,” Sonalia wrote over the TikTok video.
Many in the comments believed the pair were a couple and that ESPN showed her gazing at him — despite her eyes appearing to glance up at the scoreboard.
She tagged the fellow fan, Alex, in her caption, which read, “Are we famous now.”
“Literally saw you and said, ‘the way she looks at him is everything’ xo another tally girl that also looks at my man like that,” someone wrote in the comments.
However, it turns out that the two are just best friends and not in a relationship.
Sonalia responded, “I’m obsessed with him he’s my bff!!!
She liked a bunch of comments, such as one that said, “Literally saw this and was like ‘awww they’re on a date!’”
Some said she put him in the friend zone after the pair made waves online.
This wasn’t the only viral moment from the opening weekend of the 2026 college football season.
Sara Smith became an internet sensation after an ESPN cameraperson showed her in the stands during Ole Miss’ 41-38 win against Louisville in the Music City Kickoff on Sunday.
During the third quarter, while the Rebels led the Cardinals 24-22, the cameraperson focused on Smith looking worried as Louisville scored a touchdown.
She was clutching her phone with her arms raised and her hands on her head.
Taking to her TikTok afterwards, Smith shared the wildest DMs she received, such as men sharing their height and job occupation.
