Woman admits she tricked her ex into getting back together using Bumble

If at first you don’t succeed, swipe, swipe again.

A woman admitted she took matters into her own hands after her now husband-to-be broke up with her — and now she’s engaged.

Although at first Sarah Young, from Texas, called the romantic rekindling between her and Nathan Lopez, 26, “fate,” she revealed later it was actually a carefully contrived effort.

According to Young, she sat outside her fiancé Nathan’s apartment and changed her setting on the dating app Bumble to a one-mile radius, swiping for 45 minutes until she got to her ex’s profile.

She then waited until they “matched” on the dating app, and they got back together in August 2021 after breaking up for four months.

The pair met while they were both studying at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, but decided to take a break to “grow as individuals,” according to South West News Service.

They remained friends and both downloaded dating apps, open to the idea of meeting new people.

However, when Lopez invited Young around to “chill” at his house one night, she decided to orchestrate her own meet-cute.

“After being invited around, I drove an hour and parked outside his apartment,” she explained to SWNS about waiting until they matched.

“I said it was fate and now we’ve been together for four years and our wedding is in July 2023,” she added.

Lopez proposed in April 2022 — eight months after “fate” struck — saying their relationship is stronger than ever.

“[The break up] was a mutual agreement,” he said. “We both felt like we wanted to grow as individuals but we didn’t know where that road would lead us but now we’re engaged and stronger people — we’re a stronger couple because of that.”

Although their re-meet wasn’t 100% fate, Young says the way they met was “fate in itself.”

“I’ve always known he was the one for me,” she added. “Nathan has been an absolute dream, he has taken it upon himself to be everything I need him to be.”

The couple are due to tie the knot in July 2023 — which Lopez wanted to do sooner apparently.

“He originally wanted the wedding sooner,” she said. “But we only got engaged in April 2022, I said we need more time to plan.”
