Boomer Esiason rips Abdul Carter for comment about Jaxson Dart’s appearance with Trump: ‘Like a child’

Boomer Esiason didn’t mince words about Abdul Carter’s criticism of Jaxson Dart.

Esiason called Carter a “child” in a scathing rant after the Giants’ 2025 first-round pick reacted negatively to Dart introducing President Donald Trump at Rockland Community College in New York last week.

“To put this out like a child on social media is ridiculous,” Esiason said Tuesday on his WFAN morning show about Carter’s response. “And then when I heard, ‘Yeah, we spoke man to man.’ Yeah, there was only one man on that call, and that was Jaxson Dart.”

Carter said he thought the video of Dart introducing Trump as “was AI” on social media, which led to a firestorm of outrage in both directions.

The pass rusher later walked back his comments, deleted the viral post and said that the two “spoke man to man” to bury the hatchet.

Esiason only saw issue, though, with the criticism of a teammate, not Dart’s polarizing appearance.

“This was a real error on the part of Abdul Carter. Not on the part of Jaxson Dart,” Esiason said. “Jaxson Dart was asked to do something. To introduce the President of the United States. How many people get an opportunity to do something like that? Regardless of who the president is. You might’ve hated Barack Obama. You might’ve hated Joe Biden. And some guys didn’t want to go to the White House because they didn’t like those presidents, just like other guys didn’t want to go because they didn’t like President Trump.”

Carter was drafted No. 3 overall in 2025 and was a bit of a disappointment in his rookie season, posting just four sacks and 43 tackles in 17 games played.

Dart, meawhile, was one of the team’s few bright spots in 2025.

Giants coach John Harbaugh hasn’t made any comments on the situation, but he has been seen in the Oval Office with President Trump in the past.

Esiason referenced some of the lowlights of Carter’s rookie year during his pointed message.

“You were a man who was late to meetings. You were a man who didn’t live up to your draft choice. You were a man who wanted to wear number 56, and by the way, your idol, number 56 [Lawrence Taylor], has introduced Donald Trump numerous times,” Esiason said. “So I don’t want to hear this.

“He made another boneheaded error by going to social media.”
