One Kansas City radio host is predicting an upset in Minnesota on Sunday.
But it has nothing to do with the action that will take place on the field when the Chiefs visit the Vikings on Sunday.
Carrington Harrison, a longtime Kansas City radio personality and host on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio channel, told The Post he doesn’t believe Taylor Swift will attend a third consecutive Chiefs game amid her budding romance with tight end Travis Kelce.
“She already went to a [home] game, she went to a road game this [past] week,” Harrison said, referring to Swift attending the Chiefs’ last two games at Arrowhead Stadium and MetLife Stadium with Kelce’s mom, Donna Kelce.
“They’re on the road against Minnesota [on Sunday]. I actually don’t think she’s gonna attend that game. So I would say, in a lot of ways, it’s dying down from what it’s been the last 10 days or so.”
The area, however, is on cloud nine.
“It’s definitely been the number one story line in Kansas City,” said Harrison, adding that Chiefs fans are living through a historic chapter in the team’s legacy.
Swift nearly broke the internet when she showed up to Arrowhead Stadium with Kelce’s mom for the Chiefs-Bears game on Sept. 24.
“It’s not a game people are gonna remember,” Harrison said, referring to the Chiefs’ 41-10 rout of Chicago. “They’re going to say ‘hey, I was at the game that Taylor Swift was at.’
“I think that’s probably the cool part about it. The fact that it felt very organic, the fact that it felt very unplanned, I thought really added to it… That’s her game.”
Harrison has hosted locally in Kansas City on 610 Sports since 2012, not long before Kelce was selected by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
The host, who’s lived in the Kansas City area his whole life, explained how the city is more electric than ever.
“I mean, I think I speak for everybody in Kansas City, when I say, I just wanna see Travis Kelce win and this is an incredible win,” he said. “You’re dating Taylor Swift. I can’t imagine being a future Hall-of-Fame athlete and right now your girlfriend is the biggest pop star in the world. This is the kind of stuff that young teenage boys dream about whenever you want to play sports.”
Harrison also called out “haters” who have an issue with the Swift-Kelce craze becoming a pop culture phenomenon.
“I wouldn’t consider myself to be a Swifty by any means, but I mean, people are excited about it and that just makes it fun to me,” he said. “It just doesn’t take away from the football fan experience to me. One thing I think people have forgotten already [is] during COVID we had a time not so long ago where it was just about football.
“No fans in the stands, there were no cheerleaders there. If you just wanted the purity of football, you had it, but that wasn’t nearly as fun as it is right now. It’s certainly way more fun. So, I think in that regard, people are being haters when it comes to the Taylor Swift thing.”
Harrison laughed when asked if he was surprised to see Kelce in such a high-profile relationship.
“Travis Kelce is just a cool individual,” he said, noting the All-Pro’s good looks. “If you’ve ever been around him or if you know people that know him — I’m not surprised in the least bit that one of the most desirable single women in the world is interested in Travis Kelce.”
Harrison added “it’s a perfect time for both of them” given their individual success.
Kelce addressed his relationship with Swift during a press conference on Friday, during which he said he’s still navigating the paparazzi attention.
Although he’s “having fun” with everything, Kelce said he’s glad the relationship hasn’t “pissed anyone off” in Kansas City.
