Soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has been busy since playing the final World Cup game of his career last month.
Reports indicate that Ronaldo and his fiancée, Georgina Rodriguez, are getting married in Portugal this weekend. And in the meantime, the couple (and Ronaldo’s oldest son, Cristiano Jr.) have been seen hanging out on the soccer icon’s yacht in recent weeks.
Georgina found herself as the subject of criticism after photos of her wearing a bikini on the yacht went viral on social media. And she clapped back at fat-shamers with a defiant Instagram post on Tuesday.
The post included several selfies of Georgina in a bikini, along with photos of food on Ronaldo’s yacht. It’s caption included (in translated Spanish), “Lately, I’ve seen all kinds of comments about some photos of me on a boat. Some people comment on my body, while others defend me”.
“I was talking about it with Cris and said: ‘It worries me that people are calling me fat now, because I make a living from my image.’ And he replied:
“’You don’t live off your image. You live off who you are. A perfect woman. Beautiful, with a killer body, a mother, a good person, successful, and someone who lives life with love. What more could you want?
It’s natural for people to envy you.’ And we talked about so much more 🩷,” the caption added.
Georgina continued by speaking about how she loved how her body looks, especially after having six children. She then called it, “A body that deserves respect, love, and gratitude in every version of itself.”
Frankly, it’s absurd that Rodriguez is getting fat-shamed in the first place, as she looks great for a 32-year-old who has had six children (and just in general).
But it’s cool that Ronaldo, whose body is also under constant scrutiny, is able to appease his soon-to-be wife.
