New York is in a Dave Chappelle state of mind.
Due to overwhelming demand, the controversial stand-up has added a second huge show as part of his Karmageddon Tour and the 2026 New York Comedy Festival at Madison Square Garden.
The Big Apple gigs are slated to go down:
Friday, Nov. 6
7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 7
7:30 p.m.
If you’d like to see the “Robin Hood: Men In Tights” actor crack wise live, tickets are available for both nights in NYC.
At the time of publication, the lowest price on seats for either Chappelle MSG show was $156 including fees on StubHub.
Fans hoping to get closer to the action can grab floor-level seats for as low as $387 including fees.
Outside of the Empire State, Chappelle has a number of Karmageddon dates booked all over the country.
As of now, he’s scheduled to headline in Nashville (Oct. 20), Charlotte (Oct. 21), Louisville (Oct. 24), Austin (Oct. 26) and Houston (Oct. 28).
And, to kick off the run, the 53-year-old Washington, D.C. native will lend his talents to the first-ever Fastball Comedy Festival, which will take place Oct. 17-18 at Mesa, AZ’s Sloan Park, aka the Chicago Cubs’ spring training facility.
Other big names on the bill include fellow button pushers Bill Burr, Tom Segura, Rachel Feinstein and Andrew Santino.

Based on our findings from reviews, the four-time “SNL” host touched on sensitive material at recent live shows (where he asks audience members to put their phones in Yondr pouches).
In May 2023, SFGate reported he “didn’t go deep into his TERF beliefs [at the show they attended]; instead, he settled for a barrage of transphobic dog whistles” but also dropped the incisive line “given the way Black people are treated in this country, no amount of money could make him feel rich.”
“Talking about a monologue he planned to do on Saturday Night Live in 2022 soon after Will Smith had slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars, he held the room rapt with a tale about phoning them to try to get them to come on screen and shake hands,” The Times noted in a review of an August ’26 London show.
They added “he then touched on a joke suggesting Caitlyn Jenner’s change of gender had been more easily accepted in America than Muhammad Ali’s change of name, and explained why he meant it as a joke about racism rather than gender. ‘I thought I was punching up, they thought I was punching down.’”

Why is Dave Chappelle controversial?
Since his 2016 return to stand-up following an extended hiatus, Chappelle has made waves for his insensitive material about the transgender community, most notably in his Netflix specials “Sticks and Stones” and “The Closer.”
Rather than apologize for his remarks, he doubled down and defended his bigoted point of view.
As a result, many big names have spoken out about his baseless attacks.
“Dave Chappelle making jokes about trans people directly leads to violence, whether it’s verbal or otherwise, against trans people,” said US soccer star Megan Rapinoe in an interview with Time Magazine.
Fellow comic Wanda Sykes shared with Variety that Chappelle’s material was “so hurtful and damaging to the trans community.”
That didn’t stop Chappelle from going after other marginalized groups.
In November 2022, Chappelle was asked to host NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.” On the program, he made several anti-Semitic jokes in his 20-minute monologue.
At the time of publication, Chappelle has not issued a sincere apology to either community. His inflammatory material also caused Netflix employees to walk out in protest.
“We value our trans colleagues and allies, and understand the deep hurt that’s been caused,” a Netflix spokesperson said at the time. “We respect the decision of any employee who chooses to walk out, and recognize we have much more work to do both within Netflix and in our content.”
Most recently, Chappelle made waves for performing at the 2025 Riyadh Comedy Festival. His inclusion in the Saudi Arabia Fest upset some because he accepted money political leaders in the country who had committed human rights abuses and used the festival to “divert attention from ongoing repression.”
The Human Rights Watch organization said that comics who took part were “complicit in covering up the abuses of a repressive regime,” according to CBS News.
