There’s nothing arousing about the trade of Jaylen Brown for Paul George from the Celtics’ perspective.
Boston superfan Dave Portnoy admitted that something had to give with the pairing of Brown and superstar Jayson Tatum, but it’s the return that doesn’t have the Barstool founder excited.
“I mean, getting back from the Sixers, what’s his face, Paul George. My d–k did not get hard for Paul George,” Portnoy explained in an NSFW video he posted to social media.
“There’s no way we’re better than we were yesterday.”
This opinion is shared by the betting community, which has downgraded the Celtics from Eastern Conference favorites to secondary options behind the reigning champion Knicks.
Portnoy said that once the Celtics failed to trade Brown to the Bucks for Giannis Antetokounmpo, they should have “put the toothpaste back in the tube” and run it back with their team as constructed.

That did not come to fruition, as the Celtics traded Brown to the 76ers for two first-round picks, two second-round picks and George in a stunner.
George, 36, averaged 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game last season while also serving a 25-game suspension for violating the NBA’s anti-drug policy, and is set to be paid $54.1 million this year and has a player option for 56.6 million for the 2027-28 season.
Despite taking on the much older George, Portnoy added that you must trust the leader of the team, Brad Stevens, who is the team President and former coach.
“I like Brad Stevens,” Portnoy explained. “I trust Brad Stevens. I think all Celtics fans love Brad Stevens.”
Portnoy added: “He has to know we’re worse and, at best, an eight seed. We are an eight seed, see you later right now. No title-contending hopes. Not a real threat. That’s who we are right now. Brad Stevens has to know that. So, I gotta think there’s more coming.”
Portnoy ended his rant by taking a shot at the 76ers, their roster construction and oft-injured star Joel Embiid.
“Sixers? They could be very good if Embiid stays healthy, which is a one-in-a-million shot,” Portnoy added. “But back to us, I just gotta believe Brad Stevens has more things coming. More shoes to drop. Maybe we take a year off. I don’t f–king know. But I don’t know. I just refuse to believe this is it.
“Uh, Paul George does not make my d–k hard. That’s it.”
