Jeffrey Wright would consider returning to District 3 as Beetee Latier. In June, it was confirmed that a new “Hunger Games” prequel movie focusing on Haymitch Abernathy would debut in 2026.

“I hadn’t heard anything about that,” the Oscar-nominated actor told The Post while promoting his new show, “The Agency.”

The “Westworld” star added: “I had a great run with that franchise. And it was one of the first productions that I was a part of that actually was targeted toward a younger audience. But at the same time, it was super-smart material.”

Based on a trilogy by Suzanne Collins, “The Hunger Games” was a dystopian story set in a world where the US government forced kids and teens to fight to the death. The original trilogy starred Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen and Woody Harrelson as her mentor, Haymitch Abernathy. Wright played Beetee Latier, one of her allies who was a fellow “victor,” meaning he had gone through the games in the past and won.

The original book trilogy was made into four films that were released between 2012 and 2015. In 2023, a prequel movie came out, “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes,” starring Rachel Zegler and Tom Blyth.

The latest film is titled “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping” and will follow Abernathy when he was a teenager during his games.

Latier is older than Abernathy and one of his allies, so it wouldn’t be out of the question for Wright to appear in the movie.

About whether that’s a possibility, Wright told The Post, “The books were wonderful. They raised really thoughtful questions about society and how we move through it. It was also centered on this strong young woman. If they asked me to come back and do something, I’d give that serious consideration.”

However, Wright’s schedule is increasingly busy, as he’s also in the upcoming sequel to “The Batman” starring Robert Pattinson, and he’s co-starring with Denzel Washington in Spike Lee’s next movie, “High and Low.”

“I’d have to figure out when I would have time to do that,” he said.

“But I love that franchise.”

“The Agency” debuts on Paramount+ with Showtime on Friday, Nov. 29.
