Matt Damon can still dunk away at our hearts.
The actor “absolutely” kept the orange, pink, white and gold tracksuit he rocked in Dunkin’s viral Super Bowl commercial. In the ad, Ben Affleck, Tom Brady and Damon form a boy band from Boston dubbed DunKings. The trio performs in front of a horrified Jennifer Lopez and rapper Fat Joe wearing matching nylon pants and jackets festooned with giant doughnuts, crowns, the Boston Red Sox logo and the name of the super group.
Damon treasures his pop star swag – which sold out on the Dunkin’ website in hours – but won’t be wearing it to school pickups. “It’s a little loud,” he told Alexa.
The Oscar-winning star – who attended the Naeem Khan show with his wife Luciana Barroso, alongside Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough – said it was hard to keep a straight face on set. “Ben and I just spent the whole day laughing while we shot that thing. It was really fun. We got through it pretty quickly. We had to be sort of serious because we only had Tom for a certain amount of time, so we had to get Brady in and out.”
Damon said he and Luciana are longtime friends of the designer and attend his shows whenever they can. “We renewed our vows 10 years ago, and Naeem came and he made a dress for her,” he explained.
Should they need more evening finery, Khan is definitely their man. He sent out sequin slithers, feathered gowns in jewel tones and bedazzled and fringed minidresses, all perfect for the red carpet.
Is Damon into fashion? “No,” he said with a smile.
Luckily, he has an in-house stylist. “Whenever I need help,” he said looking adoringly at his wife, “she’s my go-to.”
