Good friends will call you out on things you don’t want to hear — and in this case, possibly save your marriage.
A TikToker has gone viral with his blunt advice to a married friend of his, claiming his pal was treading a fine line between cheating and being faithful to his wife when they were out one night. So, he put him in his place.
“My homeboy got mad at me, and now he ain’t talking to me,” Deshaw, who is a musician, said in the clip, which has been viewed more than 400,000 times.
“Because we were in the club and wanted to talk to these women but he’s married,” the singer explained to the camera. “I told him to cut that out.”
Deshaw went on to say he had spent “too much” on his friend’s wedding for them to break up how.
“I didn’t spend all my money on your wedding to watch you come into this club and start cheating on her and mess this all up,” he said.
“I ain’t tell you to walk down this aisle, ain’t tell you to introduce me to this woman and get this ring on her finger,” he added.
The singer passionately said he’s “not gonna lie to this woman.”
Instead, he told his friend to stop flirting and sit back down.
“You better go and sit down somewhere because I spent too much money on your wedding,” he joked in the clip.
Thousands agreed with the man’s passionate stance.
“That’s right! Don’t waste my money,” one woman wrote, while another declared him “a genuine friend.”
“Real friends hold you accountable,” agreed another follower. “We need these types of friends.”
Others loved the sentiment behind the clip but thought he could have been more subtle about his delivery.
“He accidentally snitched on who the homeboy is,” one user wrote. “A bachelor party in Vegas? The women police in his life will have a field day with this info.”
“LOVE this energy. Hate that he made a public video,” a viewer said.
