She hit the jackpot.
Brenda Gomez Hernandez had the best day of her life on Nov. 9 when she gave birth to her first baby girl — and won $100,000 in the lottery.
“I feel like she brought me my luck, I’m so thankful,” she told North Carolina Education Lottery officials, per Jam Press.
The 28-year-old matched the Powerball numbers, and a 2X Power Play multiplier hit doubled her already life-changing winnings.
But Hernandez’s newborn wasn’t her only child connected to her incredible win.
“I have two sons and I used their birthdays to pick my numbers,” she explained.
After the required tax withholdings, Hernandez took home $65,015 and a healthy baby girl last month.
The lucky woman collected her prize on Nov. 30 and told lottery officials she planned to use the cash to pay off her mortgage.
Hernandez, who lives in Concord, North Carolina, explained that she bought her $3 Quick Pick ticket at the QuikTrip store in her town.
Powerball is one of four lottery games in North Carolina where players have the option of buying tickets at a retail location, through the lottery’s website or with its app.
The mother of three said it was a lot of luck for one day, adding: “When I found out I cried, I’m just so excited and happy.”
