I took my husband back after he cheated — it was the right thing to do

They’re taking a second shot at love.

A Texas woman who separated from her cheating husband after he admitted having an affair with a work colleague has now taken him back — and she swears it’s the “best decision of her life.”

Alice Lacy, 29, first began dating Dominique Lacy, 33, back in 2014 — the happy couple went on to tie the knot four years later.

The pair blended their families, living a life of domestic bliss with six children in the Lone Star State.

But early last year, Alice began suspecting her bar manager beau was having an affair.

“I knew something was off when one night he randomly said how it was hard for a man to stay with only one woman and that women would never understand,” the jilted wife recalled in an interview with NeedToKnow.co.uk on Wednesday.

“I knew he was hiding an affair,” she continued. “He just kept brushing it off, saying there was nothing wrong and that he loved me and our family. We made love later that week and I cried myself to sleep that night. Despite him denying anything was going on, it was as if my body, mind and soul could feel the truth.”

In October 2022, Alice finally confronted Dominique and he confessed to an affair with a female co-worker at the bar.

Shockingly, Dominique described the mistress as his “soulmate” and said he had fallen in love with her.

“After he said she was his soulmate, I asked if he was choosing her over our kids, and he replied, ‘Yes, I love her.’ That was the moment my heart detached from the conversation,” Alice painstakingly recalled.

The mom was left shattered, saying she wanted to “cry and lie in bed” all day.

The straying spouse moved out of the marital home to pursue a relationship with his colleague — but just two days later he sent a text to Alice saying he’d made a horrible mistake.

“I was so confused and needed to think things through,” Alice said of the shock text from her estranged hubby. “But then he showed up at the front door to our house.”

“He showed me the message to the other woman with him ending their affair and got on his knees and cried — he said doing this to our marriage was the biggest regret of his life.”

Despite her doubts, Alice decided to give her hubby another chance — despite her family’s protestations.

“They thought I was crazy for taking him back because they were so disgusted about this whole situation,” she explained.

“I had so many concerns about them [Dominique and the mistress] still working together,” she explained. “I was worried he was lying and they’d carry on with the affair or he wouldn’t be able to resist her.”

“But he constantly reassures me and has even offered for me to read through all of his texts,” Alice added. “I feel as though our relationship is more open now, we can be more honest with each other.”

Dominique now no longer works at the bar where his met his mistress and is grateful to Alice for giving him a second chance.

Like her, he believes their relationship is now better than ever.

“I made a terrible and horrific mistake that almost cost me my marriage and my family,” he candidly admitted.

“In my weakest moment my wife showed me strength, in my most embarrassing moment my wife showed me compassion, when I fell she helped pick me back up,” Dominique declared.

“The love, care and peace she has brought me has motivated me to be better because I failed her, something that I will never let happen again — she has given me everything.”
