I waxed my daughter’s face after she got bullied in school – haters say I’m toxic but it’s for the best

Being a teenager is difficult, and being a parent to a teenager can be just as rough.

When one mom found out her daughter was getting bullied at school, she wanted to do what she could to help her out.

Ashlee and Steve Pease have five children and share family videos and stories on their TikTok, where they have 214,700 followers and 13.3 million likes.

In one video — with 151,000 likes and 1.1 million views — Ashlee shared that her daughter was getting teased at school for having facial hair.

So she wouldn’t be teased anymore, the mom helped her daughter wax the middle of her eyebrows and her upper lip.

“So we’re about to wax the middle of Giselle’s eyebrows, and then she said people in school are teasing her about her mustache, which she doesn’t even have a mustache,” Ashlee said. “She just has like a little bit of hair — every girl has a little bit of hair…but we’re gonna wax it because she wants a wax.”

Ashlee helped her daughter apply the wax and rip it off, but after three failed attempts, she decided to try tweezers instead.

They then went on to wax the upper lip, which got rid of the small hairs after a few attempts.

“She has some stubborn hairs,” Ashlee quipped.

“We’re just going to go to the professionals to get it done because obviously this way is not working,” she added.

But some commenters were not happy with Ashlee’s decision to let her daughter wax in the first place.

“I don’t like this mother energy, you are not soft mother, looks very harsh in all ways. Change yourself urgent,” one person commented.

“Don’t wax it please,” another begged.

“Sounds like me please don’t do the ‘mustache’ it will grow worse,” another advised.

“I feel like people from her school watch this and get the satisfaction that they got to her,” someone said.

Others were more kind, saying she made the right decision to help her daughter.

“This girl trusts her mother so much she came to her with this issue & her mama did what she could to help build her confidence,” one person wrote.

“Wish my mom would let me do this,” another admitted.

“Parents who allow their kids to feel better about themselves instead of saying you already look amazing n stuff are incredible way to go mom,” someone else commented.
