I’m only getting one of my kids a Christmas gift — but don’t call me the ‘worst mom’

Is this mama a total Scrooge — or savings-savvy?

A mom-of-two has stirred up controversy after revealing she will only be buying holiday presents for one of her children this year, saying she can’t afford to buy gifts for her youngest in a TikTok video scoring more than 369,000 views.

But the fiscally responsible mother isn’t playing favorites — she just gave birth nearly five months ago and argued the infant is “too young” to understand the concept of Christmas, let alone appreciate it.

“Does she need presents? No, she doesn’t,” creator Tiffany Chesson said matter-of-factly while cradling her newborn in her arms.

“She’s too young to understand, appreciate — there is literally no point in buying her a Christmas present.”

She also revealed that she doesn’t “have the money” to purchase a gift anyway since she’s “on maternity pay.”

“My friends and family are going to buy her presents and that’s absolutely OK. I don’t have a problem with someone buying her presents,” she continued. “I’m just not going to do it for her.”

Next year, when her little one hits 18 months, she will “definitely be getting presents” for Christmas.

While she wasn’t sure if “this is normal or not” — and anticipated fellow TikTokers calling her the “world’s worst mom” — she insisted her newborn “has everything she needs” already.

Some viewers in the comments argued that she should be hoarding “baby’s first” items — keepsakes like ornaments or picture books — but others agreed with Chesson, saying they wouldn’t make a big deal out of the holiday until the youngsters are old enough to remember.

“My 4th child is only 3 months when Christmas comes around. I’m washing some off the older kids’ baby toys and that’s what gets wrapped,” shared one person.

“My son’s 6 months, I’ve spent all my money on my 4-year-old this year! Don’t see the point and I’d rather make a fuss of my 4-year-old,” commented another.

“I think first Christmas should be things they need or keepsakes like baubles, stockings, clothes etc.,” someone else chimed in.

“If the older siblings believe in Santa, get her something small so siblings don’t question why Santa didn’t get her anything,” offered another.
