‘Jeopardy!’ winner James Holzhauer trolls Ken Jennings: ‘Stop ducking a rematch’

James Holzhauer and Ken Jennings seem to be at war once again.

The Illinois native, 38, played a round of “Jeopardy! Masters” on Monday with Jennings, 48, as the host, and the two hilariously trolled each other during the tournament.

In the “Final Jeopardy!” segment, Holzhauer was in the lead and the clue read: “Opened in 1909 & less famous than an older neighbor, it connects Brooklyn & Chinatown.”

Once the first two contestants scribed their responses, Jennings stated that Holzhauer had already begun to write down his answer while the former was still reading the hint.

“What bridge did he think of?” Jennings wondered.

Holzhauer didn’t write down his reply to the question, however, he did pen the statement: “Stop ducking a rematch, Ken.”

The trivia show emcee couldn’t help but burst into laughter and shot back: “You know how much work I had to go to to get all the way over here at this lectern and avoid having to play you again, James?”

Holzhauer then referenced the “ducking” bit of his remark, noting: “This is autocorrected, by the way.”

Holzhauer and the Washington native are both big champs of the long-running game show, having gone head-to-head in the ABC series’ “Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time” tournament back in January 2020.

Jennings had emerged victorious by winning three games, with Holzhauer scoring one match.

“Jeopardy! Masters” saw the return of several of the show’s most triumphant champions, including Amy Schneider, Matt Amodio, Mattea Roach, Andrew He, Sam Buttrey and Holzhauer.

Jennings and Holzhauer also went at it on Twitter last year, jokingly feuding on the social media platform.

Holzhauer tweeted a snap of the Indianapolis Colts leading by 33 points at halftime against the Minnesota Vikings in December.

The Colts wound up scoring 39 points to win the game at the time, and it was regarded as the biggest comeback in the NFL.

“Eerie photos taken just before tragedy hit,” he wrote on Twitter of the uneven halftime score.

Jennings then couldn’t keep his fingers off of his keyboard and felt the need to gleefully answer back his old rival.

He posted a photo of himself and his co-player in the replies section of the tweet from the “Greatest of All Time” game.

The photo was taken before the “Final Jeopardy!” round of the first contest of the second match of the trivia bout.

Holzhauer won that match with 32,400 points, and Jennings had just 22,000. Despite Holzhauer’s first match win, Jennings then went on to conquer the entire trivia event.

The professional sports gambler currently has the title for highest single-game winnings, but falls behind “Brainiac” author Jennings in most consecutive games won, according to “Jeopardy!” records.
