John Daly seems to attract attention wherever he goes.
The fan-favorite golf legend arrived at a Kenny Chesney concert on Friday night in a golf cart, taking in the show from behind the wheel.
Chesney, a country artist with almost nine million monthly listeners on Spotify, was playing at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open, where Daly was competing.
Shots of the golfer were posted on Reddit.
The 57-year-old golfer, who is recovering from a knee replacement, finished at +15 in the tournament, firmly out of contention.
Padraig Harrington won the tournament in Binghamton, New York, at 18-under par.
The golf cart stunt is just the latest antic in Daly’s colorful and entertaining career on and off the golf course.
Daly, who won the PGA Championship in 1991 and the British Open in 1995, has become a cult hero for such feats as the time he smoked 21 cigarettes, drank 12 Diet Cokes, and ate six packages of peanut M&Ms during a practice round at the Wyndham Championship in 2008.
He also criticized the PGA for its lack of disability-friendly tee boxes in May.
“So hard to play tee boxes that are down grade. Golf course is great but I wish they would make their tee boxes level! We are not young anymore!! Some guys are ADA and we can not follow through on down hill tee boxes!! I’m sorry,” he tweeted.
“@PGA you are going the wrong way in golf but I love y’all. But you are making holes really really long.. St Andrew’s never had a downhill tee box. Quit while your NOT ahead…. Thank you.”
While some golfers have loudly criticized LIV Golf, which announced its plans to merge with the PGA Tour in a shocking move earlier this month, Daly does not appear to be one of those golfers — he said he “begged” Greg Norman to let him play on the LIV tour last year.
