Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld cozy up during QB’s jersey retirement ceremony in heartfelt scene

It was a heartfelt scene Saturday in Laramie, Wyo., where Josh Allen celebrated his college football jersey retirement with wife Hailee Steinfeld by his side.

In footage captured from the Cowboys’ 13-7 home loss to the Nevada Wolf Pack, the “Sinners” actress cozied up to the reigning NFL MVP in the stands at War Memorial Stadium as Allen’s No. 17 jersey was immortalized at halftime.

Allen, 29, played three seasons at Wyoming before being selected seventh overall by the Bills in the 2018 NFL Draft.

The quarterback, currently in the midst of a rocky season in Western New York, became the third athlete in Wyoming history to have his jersey retired, joining men’s basketball players Fennis Dembo and Kenny Sailors, per ESPN.

“I’m so honored and blessed to represent this university and this beautiful state. I love you guys. Thank you. God bless. Go Pokes, and it will always suck to be a CSU Ram,” Allen said during Saturday’s ceremony.

His parents, Joel and Lavonne, were also in attendance.

Saturday’s ceremony came roughly six months after Allen and Steinfeld, 28, tied the knot.

Steinfeld, who keeps a low profile during Bills games, has been supporting Allen during what’s been a rough stretch for the AFC powerhouse.

The Bills, who once again entered a season with Super Bowl aspirations, stumbled against the Texans on Thursday in a primetime blunder.

Allen went 24-of-34 for zero touchdowns and two interceptions in the 23-19 loss. The quarterback, who slammed his helmet in a moment of frustration, was also sacked a season-high eight times.

“When they hit the quarterback 12 times, I don’t like that, I don’t like that stat at all,” Bills coach Sean McDermott said afterward. “It’s not a healthy way to play or a healthy way to keep our quarterback healthy through the remainder of the season. That’s just not a good formula right there.”

Thursday’s defeat dropped the Bills to 7-4 on the season.

Although they’re still inside the AFC playoff race, the surging Patriots are currently atop the AFC East standings at 9-2.

The Bills visit the Steelers next Sunday.
