Lucky dog miraculously survives 150-foot cliff fall: ‘Shocked and dazed’

Talk about a panic Button.

A UK dog took quite the tumble Thursday — falling nearly 150 feet down a cliff.

Astonishingly, Button the mutt walked away with only minor injuries, SWNS reports.

She was on a stroll with her owner near Thornwick Bay Holiday Park in Bridlington, England, when she suffered the fall, prompting quick action by the local coast guard.

Technicians rappelled down the cliffside to retrieve Button, who was described as a “very friendly dog.”

Posting an update to Facebook, the Bridlington Coastguard Rescue Team said it placed Button in an animal rescue bag to haul her back up the cliff.

“A big thank you from Button and her family, to the brave men and women who rescued her yesterday,” Sandra Costin, who appears to be Button’s owner, wrote in a Facebook comment.

“They saved our beautiful girl and brought her back to us, she doesn’t appear to have any major injuries but is shocked and dazed and now resting at home.”

“I was very stupid walking her without the lead on but she loves to run around,” her owner admitted. “I will never forgive my self for putting her and those brave men at risk. I can never thank you enough.”

Button’s owner said she would “never forgive” herself for putting the dog in harm’s way.

“I was very stupid walking her without the [leash] on but she loves to run around,” she admitted. “I will never forgive my self for putting her and those brave men at risk. I can never thank you enough.”

Costin gave her “sincere thanks and love” to the impressive rescue crew, who offered tips to other pet owners.

“This is an important reminder that when walking dogs on cliff top paths ensure they are kept on a lead, should anything happen never put yourself in danger, dial 999 and ask for the coastguard,” the coast guard wrote on Facebook.

Button isn’t the only pup to take a treacherous tumble and come out unscathed.

In 2021, a pet owner’s beloved “hiking buddy” fell 170 feet into a gorge — and emerged without a scratch. The heart-stopping event was dubbed a “doggone miracle.”

And just this month, a German shepherd required rescue after suffering a 300-foot fall onto a remote area of Cannon Beach in Oregon.

Rescuers rappelled down the cliffs and swam in the rocky water to reach the stranded pup, who was injured but expected to recover.
