Man dragged for complaining wife with cancer didn’t cook jalapeño poppers

It’s not the best way to spice up a relationship.

A California man is being spit-roasted online after allegedly complaining that his wife didn’t make him food while he was golfing — even though she was busy receiving treatment for cancer. A video detailing the inconsiderate spouse’s tantrum currently boasts 1.4 million views on TikTok and another 1.3 million on Twitter.

“Poor guy had to make his own Jalapenos,” reads the caption over the clip, posted by wife Gonda, who suffers from desmoplastic melanoma — a rare form of skin cancer. Earlier this year, she’d also been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, which she has been combating with regular immunotherapy treatments, per a harrowing clip on her TikTok.

Despite battling a potentially terminal disease, Gonda’s husband Gerald didn’t appear too sympathetic to her plight. The aforementioned clip, posted to the couple’s joint account @teamdoubleg, shows the ogre preparing jalapeño poppers while cavetching that his wife didn’t prepare them for him in advance — despite the fact that she was reportedly receiving immunotherapy at the time.

“I asked you to do this while I was golfing,” the ungrateful Gerald gripes. “And I come home and you were sitting on the couch. So, apparently I got to do this myself.”

When asked why it’s a problem to make them himself, Gonda’s hubby huffs, “So today’s Saturday, I understand you’re waiting for the Alabama game. But I wanna watch that game too, so if you could have done this while I was golfing … I just come home and eat this.”

Needless to say, Gonda wasn’t going to take her beau’s bellyaching lying down. “That’s the problem right there … ‘If I could’ve done it while you were golfing’,” retorts the fed-up wife. “So you expected to go play golf all day and then come home and have your jalapeño poppers all ready to go for you.”

“I guess in a dream world, yeah. That would’ve been perfect,” says Gerald, to which his other half adds, “Well, it appears you’re doing a pretty good job.”

“Well, sometimes you have to figure it out, if your person, you, is not going to help you,” scoffs the bozo while arranging a tray of the spicy noshes.

Then, just when you think he can’t go lower, the callous cretin drops the mother of all insensitive remarks. “You just sat on your keaster today cause you had a treatment,” Gerald snarks, making finger air quotes while uttering the world “treatment.” “But I figured you probably could’ve probably could’ve figured out how do what I’m doing right now.”

He continued his obtuse rant in a follow up clip. “I’m going to make myself a plate. And when I’m done, you can have none,” scorns Gerald, who ends up leaving his wife one popper out of a tray of around twenty.

Needless to say, the a-hole’s antics didn’t sit well with the TikTok commentariat, with one appalled viewer writing, “If this is marriage, I don’t want it.”

“He’s talking about golf like it was a necessary chore for the family,” said another.

“I’m too hot headed for petty stuff like this,” fumed one critic on Twitter. “A grown adult man whining about how he can’t have his wife make food for him??? While he was golfing and she had cancer treatments?”

They added, “She’s sick and he had no time [in] between golfing and watching football to make himself a snack?”

“His wife had a cancer treatment and he went GOLFING and he is pissy that he has to make himself a snack,” said another. “He is so condescending and nasty, I feel so bad for this woman.”

“I would’ve knocked all that shit to the ground,” declared one incensed Twitter user.

However, others suggested that Gerald was playing the heel in a skit, and that he likely wasn’t that sociopathic when the cameras were off.

While his wife didn’t make him jalapeños, he certainly got his just desserts. In another installment of the snack saga, Gonda describes how Gerald got “jalapeño juice in his eye” while eating his self-made meal.
