Marc Cucurella makes bold promise involving coach if Spain wins World Cup

Marc Cucurella is one win from helping Spain win its first World Cup since 2010. But he’s also one win from having to fulfill a promise he will remember forever.

Appearing as a guest on “Partidazo,” Cucurella was asked by the show’s host, Juanma Castaño, what he would do if Spain won the World Cup and gave a shocking answer.

Cucurella was hesitant at first but went on to say that if they won, he could get a little tattoo. But he went on to say it would be coach Luis de la Fuente’s face tattooed on his body.

“I think that it’s good,” Cucurella told Castaño on the show. “I think it’s a good memory.”

De la Fuente has been coaching Spain since 2022 and has already found early success, as the team won the UEFA Champions in 2024, giving him a contract extension until the end of Euro 2028.

Now, de la Fuente has a chance to establish himself as one of the best coaches to come through the Spain soccer team as the squad is one victory from winning the World Cup against Argentina on Sunday in New Jersey.

If Spain wins the title, Cucurella’s promise to tattoo his coach’s face on his body will be one of the many promises that have followed Spain during the World Cup.

Young star Lamine Yamal will also have a promise to fulfill.

Yamal said if Spain wins the World Cup, he will raffle 100 Beats by Dre because he is an ambassador for the headphones.

While the Spain players will have a lot of promises to fulfill if they win the World Cup, Cucurella admitted the team has a tough task ahead: Soccer legend Lionel Messi and his Argentina team have been among the best throughout the tournament.

Cucurella, 27, and Yamal, 19, have been two of the most important players on Spain’s roster during the World Cup. Cucurella has appeared in seven matches, averaging 90 minutes per game, and has two assists. Yamal, who is considered one of the sport’s brightest young stars, has appeared in 11 matches. He has one goal and three assists, averaging 69 minutes per game.
