The Los Angeles Rams parted ways with kicker Harrison Mevis after two crucial missed kicks in the Rams’ Monday Night Football loss to the Buffalo Bills.
The sports world has turned on Mevis since the Rams released him. And rightfully so, since his 55.6% field goal percentage was 32nd in the NFL this season and arguably cost the Rams at least one win.
Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford’s wife, Kelly, seems to blame God for Mevis’ kicking woes this season.
She made an Instagram post on Friday morning that showed several photos of her and Matthew’s four daughters during Monday night’s game. The post was captioned, “God had a different plan than having that ball go through the uprights, but whatever the plan is, we trust it. ❤️ / The plan does, however, always include cute fits 🥰”.
She’s referring to the two missed field goal kicks that Mevis had during that game, one of which was the potential game-winner blocked by the Bills.
The other was a straight miss from 50 yards in the first quarter.
Maybe God will have a different plan in store for Blake Grupe, who the Rams replaced Mevis with.
Matthew Stafford will definitely be hoping that Grupe will end more of his drives in points than Mevis did this season.
