Meet the Green Lady of Brooklyn — who lives her life in one color

This eccentric New Yorker makes being green look easy.

Brooklyn’s own Elizabeth Sweetheart, 83, has been obsessed with the color green for over 20 years.

Sweetheart appeared on the British talk show “This Morning” on Wednesday to talk about her love of green, the Daily Mail reported.

“I think it’s because I love color, I have worn a lot of color through my life and green just seemed to be the happiest, it makes everyone happy and it’s easy to live with,” the artist told show hosts Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle.

Sweetheart’s green hair matches her green wardrobe and her home is no different. She welcomed a camera crew into her monochromatic abode which features an array of green hues, from her neon doorway to her evergreen staircase. Every furnishing, appliance and accessory is also green, including her sofa, dining utensils, counter top and blender.

The plants in her backyard are green, of course, but so are the planters.

The color connoisseur had quite the journey before settling in her green paradise.

She was born Elizabeth Eaton in Nova Scotia, where her grandmother taught her to make art and clothes. She eventually hitchhiked to NYC in 1964 and began working as an artist and printmaker in the garment industry.

Sweetheart said she and her spouse, Robert, didn’t know her life was turning green “until it was — it just crept up.”

The couple met at the shuttered Ukrainian restaurant in the East Village, Veselka, in 1966 and the two of them have been married for 56 years.

Her love of green resonates with people in real life and online. Her Instagram account, where she’s dubbed The Green Lady of Brooklyn, has nearly half a million followers.

She frequently posts photos of herself posing in her green attire and with her fellow green-loving fans.

“People are wonderful, when they see me, they smile, they are happy and they love to take photos, they take selfies and we hug each other, it’s very positive.”
