My mom accidentally hired a stripper for my Barbie-themed 5th birthday party

Throwing a birthday party for your kid is a high-stakes game of risk.

Are you offending someone, not catering for them, excluding them, not giving your child the extravaganza they want? 

With the potential for things to go wrong fairly high, it’s no wonder that the internet is full of stories like this one, where a mom has accidentally hired an adult entertainer for her daughter’s fifth birthday.

What’s worse/entertaining for us, is that she’s been outed by her adult offspring in a now-viral TikTok.

And it’s even more hilarious right now, considering the Barbie phenomenon that’s sweeping the globe.

Of course, we all know that Greta Gerwig’s film is dominating the box office – and social media – at the moment, which is what reminded one woman of her Barbie-themed birthday party decades ago.

Julie (@joolia_go0lia) posted a clip about it this week, and it’s unsurprisingly gone viral.

She starts her video by saying, “My parents hired an adult entertainer for my 5th birthday party by accident.”

Wearing a Barbie-pink shirt to honor the telling of the tale, Julie explains that when she was five, she had a Barbie-themed birthday party.

Pretty standard stuff.

Her mother had also hired an entertainer she found in the phonebook to dress up as Barbie.

What a treat… or maybe not.

That was the problem with phonebooks, in their day, they didn’t always have photos alongside of numbers.

Of course, a woman called Barbie “shows up and she is a stripper.”

Barbie, being the professional she was, adapted her routine to fit her audience, and all went well.

“She did not take off her clothes,” Julie recalls. “I followed her around thrilled that Barbie came to my birthday party. And all of the parents there had a really good laugh.”

Viewers loved the story, with many sharing their own parents’ inappropriate party mistakes.

“My mom accidentally ordered the spice channel in place of a Spice Girls concert on pay-per-view once,” shared one.

Another added, “This happened to my parents, but with a bunny for an April birthday. It was amazing.”

Then there was the viewer who claimed that their mom had mistakenly served a rum cake at one of their birthday parties.

There was also much support for Stripper Barbie.

For example, this person wrote, “Probably one of the best parties she’s been to! Free cake and no drunks!”

To which another viewer had the best response: “She said, ‘C’mon Barbie, Let’s go party,’” in reference to the iconic Barbie Girl song.

Julie also told viewers that she would make another video to share photos from the occasion.

Sadly, her mother couldn’t locate them (or maybe there were only some from the adults-only after party).
