Nate Burleson is used to being a good teammate.
The former wide receiver spent his NFL career complimenting stars like Randy Moss and Calvin Johnson, and now he’s ready to make another sacrifice in his broadcast career.
Burleson, who is part of CBS’ NFL coverage, said he would “gladly take a pay cut” if it meant getting Travis Kelce to the network once the tight end retires.
“What I do know is whoever is going after Travis, they’re going to have to back that Brinks truck up, because one, he’s made a ton of money in the league,” Burleson told “Front Office Sports HQ.”
“His lady [Taylor Swift] got paper, I’ll be honest. So, he’s not gonna show up for cheap change. And I just don’t know if CBS got the budget, but I’d gladly take a pay cut,” he cracked. “My agent didn’t hear that by the way.”

Kelce, 36, is entering his 14th season for the Chiefs – -widely expected to be his last before finally hanging his cleats up.
And with his brother Jason already at ESPN following his legendary career for the Eagles, it wouldn’t be a shock at all if Travis followed him into TV. The Kansas City pass-catcher has already dipped his toes into the entertainment industry, hosting “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader” on Amazon Prime Video, a five-episode role in FX’s “Grotesquerie” and making a cameo in Adam Sandler’s “Happy Gilmore 2.” The brothers also host their successful “New Heights” podcast together.

“Listen, if Jason Kelce, who was the guy that reluctantly went into TV, you know Trav is the guy that they’re gonna put on camera and he’s gonna do amazing,” said Burleson, who also appears on “CBS Mornings.”
“He’s articulate, he got the swag, he knows the game and he’s a master of being in front of a microphone given his podcast and the success.”
Following his retirement in 2024, Jason was heavily recruited by ESPN, as well as NBC, CBS and Amazon Prime Video.
However, he ultimately landed with the Worldwide Leader and became part of the “Monday Night Countdown” crew.
Travis, who married Swift in a star-studded wedding on July 3, will play at least one more season for the Chiefs following a disappointing 2025 season for the team.
The Chiefs went 6-11 as Patrick Mahomes tore his ACL in December, though the quarterback is targeting a Week 1 return this season.
