Nick Bosa has come out of X retirement to seemingly give his stamp of approval on Ryan Clark being fired by ESPN.
The 49ers star’s first original tweet in four years was a simple emoji that uses three fingers, which often signal “excellent” for its meaning, above an article about Clarks’ exit.
Bosa last crafted his own tweet on Nov. 12, 2022.
Clark had previously been critical of Bosa on his “The Pivot” podcast after Bosa crashed a “Sunday Night Football’ postgame interview of his teammate Brock Purdy while wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat nine days before the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
Clark crushed Bosa’s antics, asking, “What was so great about America before?” while also seemingly questioning Bosa’s personal beliefs.
“When Nick Bosa shows up in a MAGA hat during Brock P’s interview, he knows exactly what he’s doing,” Clark said in 2024. “Never before has sort of partisanship divided the country in the way that it has since 2016. That’s been what it is. And when you say ‘Make America Great Again,’ what was so great about it before? What part of America are you trying to get to based on what we’re hearing coming out of many of these campaign rallies? There’s only one side that truly degrades and speaks negatively of the differences in other people, where they’re from, the colors of their skin. There’s only one side that does that.”
Clark was shockingly fired by ESPN on Monday in a rushed exchange that happened off camera during his “NFL Live” appearance.
The enigmatic personality’s ouster had started to leak to media outlets, and ESPN wanted to be the one who told him rather than him learning in another manner.
His firing was the first of many, as ESPN laid off multiple notable names, including MLB play-by-play man Karl Ravech, NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, fantasy contributor Stephania Bell and more.
