Traveler tested — but not necessarily airline approved.
A TikToker named Nicole, who goes by nicolenotnicki on the platform, recently posted a video about how to bring alcohol on a flight to avoid paying sky-high prices on board, The Daily Dot reported.
The video shows tiny bottles of Jack Daniels whiskey, Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka, And Hornitos Tequila inside of a clear travel bag.
“Cause who trying to pay $30 for a drink at the airport,” she said in text atop her video.
“Travel hack pack your licka!” she captioned the clip, which said she was located at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
While the Transportation Security Administration website clearly states that travelers can bring liquor in their carry-on bag, drinking your own liquor on the plane is not permitted.
“For carry-on you are limited to containers of 3.4 ounces or less that can fit comfortably in one quart-sized, clear, zip-top bag,” according to the TSA.
The Federal Aviation Administration said the following about drinking on board a plane: “Federal law prohibits passengers from consuming alcohol aboard a flight that is not served by a flight attendant.”
While it’s not clear if Nicole drank on the plane, her liquor hack went viral and her video drank up more than 1.1 million views since being posted five days ago.
The Post reached out to the TikToker for comment.
Several commenters below her post thanked her for her travel tip and said that they’ve done the same themselves — though not without an icy reception from airline staff.
“I always do this when I travel it saves me so much money!” one person said.
“Been doing this for years & recently a stewardess scolded me saying don’t do that again. Leave me alone,” another added.
“You can bring your own liquor through TSA but cannot drink it on the plane … but what they don’t see they don’t know,” another chimed in.
Several people said they have more luck drinking the tiny bottles in the airport before they get on the plane.
There are certain areas of the airport where people can enjoy alcoholic beverages, but it depends on the airport, according to Thrilllist.
“You can’t drink it in the plane, in front of the flight attendants. You drink it at the airport before the flight,” one person said.
“Yup! Do this all the time! Not pay high prices at the airport,” another added.
