Security was tight at the entrance to Hampton Island in Georgia on Saturday, as workers arrived early to get ready for Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck to walk down the aisle at their plantation-style property later in the day.
Two security guards sat at the island’s entrance, checking IDS for anyone entering Affleck’s 87-acre property.
Once checked in, he handed out white paper wristbands as police officers sat nearby in a car named the Liberty County Sheriff.
Workers were seen arriving with suits hanging from their rear passenger’s side window, as well as some trucks that arrived after 11:30 a.m., including a truck known as Savannah Vintage, a lighting and furniture company.
The pair got engaged in April.
They had earlier engaged in 2002, but parted ways in 2004. Affleck, 50, married actress Jennifer Garner, with whom he has three children – Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13 and Samuel, 10 – and Lopez, 53, eventually married singer Marc Anthony, with whom she had twins. , Emme and Max, 14.
A neighbor told The Post that preparations for the three-day wedding ceremony had been going on since July. “It’s non-stop,” said the neighbor. “Basically catering and equipment. They are hauling in dirt, tents, horses. Too many horses.”
“They used to be out here long ago,” said neighbor Richard Dasher, 49, referring to the Hollywood couple. “They used to come in and out.”
“I know they’ve been working on it for four months,” he said of the wedding, with a caretaker on the property he’s “good friends.”
A worker told The Post that he had been working on the property since March. “Man, I’m working on that property behind me,” he said. “I’m cleaning up, cutting down trees, bushes, anything that’s blocking the view of the lake and the house.”
Dasher told The Post that a parade of unmarked trucks and vans have made their way to the property over the past week.
“No big deal,” said another neighbor, who did not wish to be identified. “They’re just people like us. I like them and their profession. They’re good at what they do but I’m not starstruck. I know they do a lot of cleaning and they rent together. “
The neighbor told that his mother had met Affleck about 15 years ago.
“She was starstruck. She said, ‘Hey, how are you?’ He said, ‘Okay and you?’
Joy Norris, a resident of Riceborough, said he wanted to meet Lopez.
“He tried it once before, right? Fell in love. Better luck this time.”
